Soap and Glory A Great Kisser

Soap and Glory's A Great Kisser is the newest addition to their fairly new cosmetics range. The one I have is in the flavor juicy peach. Its smells divine, I actually can't stop smelling it. It smells exactly like peach which is a scent I personally love, although it may not be for everyone. This one happens to be tinted, but as the colour is so light, I don't see a difference in lip colour.

I do think it is a but sticky and not overly moisturising but I keep applying it anyway.
This definitely isn't the kind of lip balm to use when your lips are in bad condition (I recommend Blistex for that) but its lovely to wear alone or under lipstick.

There are 2 other flavors sweet coconut which is clear and cherry chocolate which is a dark pink. I think I will certainly pick up Cherry chocolate as it might be more pigmented.

The lipbalms cost £5 and are available from Boots or online. Also Boots currently have these on 3 for 2 along with all other makeup.

Will you be trying these?

Aussie Mega Shampoo and Conditioner

Aussie is a brand I have heard so much about but I never got round to trying any products from them. Their 3 minute miracle conditioner seems to be everyone in the blogging world's holy grail product. Anyway when I had the chance to try a shampoo and conditioner out I was so excited to be trying the brand everyone raves about. I received the mega shampoo and conditioner which both retail for £5.99 although I believe they are on 3 for 2 in Boots at the moment.

The shampoo to me smells like non alcoholic ginger beer, but it smells really nice. They both leave your hair feeling clean. The shampoo works as a good build up shampoo to remove products that have built up over time as after my first use my hair felt so much cleaner and was a lot more manageable.

The only thing I really don't like is the feel your hands get when you rub the shampoo into your hair, its weird to explain but I can get over it as the product is so good.

Have you ever tried any Aussie products?

Pixi glow Face Pallet

So recently I was invited to the launch of Pixi's new collection, Pixiglow based on none other than the iconic Disney character Tinker Bell. Anyway I was really disappointed that I couldn't make it to the event but I was kindly offered the Pixiglow face pallet to try out.

The box the product comes in has a rubbery texture to it and the most gorgeous vintage Tinker Bell design on the front. On the back it says the pallet is inspired by budding roses, berry nectars and dew at dawn. Its such a cute pallet, but it isn't by any means childish.

The same picture is printed on the packaging of the actual product but this time its green based instead of yellow.

Once opened the first thing you notice is the massive mirror with the words Pixi Glow and Tinker Bell on it. There are 5 neutral eye colours which are super pigmented (if you want to see swatches please let me know) and 5 lovely lip creams. In pallets I don't usually bother with the lip creams as they are usually rubbish quality but these are actually quite good. Again with most pallets I am having the problem of bits of eyeshadow getting in the lip creams. In the top there is also a double ended eyeshadow sponge and a double ended lip brush.

I personally think that makes it a great pallet so the fact there's even a blusher in here just puts the cherry on top.

The blusher is very shimmery in the pallet but that doesnt translate on the face. Its not very pigmented it just gives a subtle glow. Also all the tools have the Pixiglow logo on them, cute or what?

This pallet is in my opinion quite expensive but you really are paying for quality. The packaging is very sturdy and the products are great. It costs £32 and is available from larger boots stores or here.

What do you think of this pallet?

Soap and Glory Lid Stuff Review

Eyeshadow for me isn't something I wear on an everyday basis, just when I feel like it. Soap and Glory's Lid Stuff Pallet in What's Nude has some gorgeous colours in it.

(Clockwise from top left : Vanilla, Pink T, Aubersheen, Mudhoney)

As you can tell from the picture above, Aubersheen is the only shimmer colour, the rest are matte shades. The pigmentation isn't really very good especially when applied with a brush but it can be built up They also dont last very long on the lids without a primer (MUA's pro eyeprimer is great and really cheap)

(L-R : Mudhoney, Aubersheen, Pink T, Vanilla)

Pink T is definately my least favorite of the pallet, it comes of very dull and grey. Vanilla makes a great highlight and I have been loving using the other 2 in my crease.

Lid stuff is also available in Off the wallflowers which is a purple and blue based pallet and Smokey Dokey which has all the colours for a great smokey eye.

They are available from Boots for £10.00

Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer

I have loved soap and glory body products for as long as I can remember. The clean on me shower gel is a staple product of mine. When I had the chance to try out some of the cosmetics line I was so excited. I received 4 products but I will do a separate post on each.

Kick ass concealer was the product I was most excited to try. Its a 3 step product.
Step 1 - A pink toned under eye brightening concealer
Step 2 - A yellow toned face concealer
Step 3 - Concealer setting powder.

It also has a handy mirror in it. The packaging is rather bulky but that really doesn't bother me one bit.

I overall do love this product, I have used it every day since I got it. The only problems is as I am so pale the face concealer comes off a bit orange on my skin even when its blended well. Also the powder is white, I mean i'm pale and it shows white on my skin.

(A swatch of the powder)

Kick ass concealer is available from Boots for £10.00
Have you tried any of the soap and glory cosmetics?

Topshop Blush in Rosy

Topshop make up is something I have always loved the look of. I currently have the cream blushes and highlighter on my wishlist.
Anyway I was sent the Powder blush in Rosy to try out and I love it.

When you take the lid off there is a sponge on top of the blush. You need to unscrew the sponge and then you have the blush. The only problem I have with this blush is that when using a brush its a bit messy and I feel a lot of product is wasted.

The colour is very sheer on the cheeks with a subtle glow. When I saw the shimmer in the pot I thought it was going to be too glittery but its actually really nice.

These blushes retail for £6.00 and are available in Topshop

Liz Earle Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise

I was recently very kindly offered the chance to try some Liz Earle products. The Liz Earle customer service team are one of the best I have ever come across. I was sent 3 products and decided to review them all in one go.

Cleanse and Polish is such a raved about product in the beauty community and after trying it I understand why. Its a creamy consistency which I really like and is suitable for all skin types and ages, the only thing I wasn't too keen on was the smell which is kind of minty but i've actually started to like it now. I could definitely tell it was working as after about 2 days of using it, my skin had completely broken out, that was great as it shows the product really works and is getting rid of all dirt. My skin has been noticeably better since I started to use this. I got the 100ml starter set which cost £14.25 and it comes with 2 muslin cloths. I will definitely be repurchasing

Instant boost skin tonic spritzer has the loveliest smell in the world. On the Liz Earle website it says it smells of lavender but I think it smells like roses but not too overpowering. Anyway this comes in spritzer form and a bottle form. I choose the spritzer because you can use it to freshen up as well as using it in your skincare routine. I haven't noticed this making a lot of difference but I do enjoy using it. 200ml - £12.50

The skin repair light moisturiser is the moisturiser for oily/combination skin. I really like the moisturiser a tiny bit does the whole face and it sinks in really quickly. It smells really fresh and leaves skin feeling soft. As much as I love it I don't think I will repurchase as 50ml is £18.75 which I think is expensive when my favorite moisturiser is about £4 for 75ml.

All the Liz Earle products are available from the website
Have you ever tried any Liz Earle products?

Carmex vs Burt's Bees

I have always been a lipbalm kind of girl so tinted lip balms for me are great. I recently discovered these 2 Burts Bees tinted lipbalm in Hibiscus and Carmex moisture plus in peach.

As you can see from the picture above the colours are almost exactly the same.

The Burt's Bee's one to me smells horrible, I mean I cant smell it when its on so I don't mind to much. The product itself looks great on the lips a a kind of sheer colour but at £5.99 I wont be repurchasing.

I love the smell of the Carmex one even though it smells of vanilla and I normally hate vanilla. It is super creamy and gives off the same amount of colour as the Bursts Bee's one. I didn't realise this until looking up the price online but it has an SPF15 in it which I am super impressed by. At £4.49 it is a bit steep for a lipbalm but I think I will repurchase it.

(Hibiscus on top and Carmex Peach on bottom)

Have you tried either of these lip balms? What do you think of them?
