Lacoste Fragrance | A Man's Opinion

For Father's Day I was very kindly sent the Lacoste L.12.12 Rouge Eau De Toilette for my dad to review. I asked him what he thinks of it and a summary of what he said is...

"The scent is very overpowering (in a good way) and not something that I would wear everyday. It's a great fragrance for the evening or going out for meals. The scent is quite strong but at the same time quite fruity and refreshing. I was really pleased when I received this as a gift for Father's Day and think that most men would be happy to receive this!"

So there you have it...a man's opinion. 30ml costs £26.00 from Boots.

Which fragrance for men do you think is best?

Not Another Bill | August 2012

Not Another Bill is a subscription service that costs £15 per month and you get a gift in the post. The whole point of this is so that you receive a surprise gift in the post every month and also so you get something in the post that isn't just bills or take away menus. I really like that a lot of thought is put into every gift. The first thin I loved was the box that it was delivered in. The plain brown box had a vintage looking stamp on it saying not another bill and some cute tape to seal the box.

I also noticed that my name was on the letter explaining what the gift is, who made it and how it was made etc. Having personal touches like these really pull me in as obviously the company have a lot of attention to detail.

This boat is made from driftwood from sea storms. Its really cute and simple and is currently sitting on my mantel piece. Each boat is unique so you can be certain you aren't going to spot an identical one while your at your friends house. The letter explains more about how it was made and things.

Not another bill teamed up with Tattyoo this month . Tattyoo are a company that make transferable temporary tattoos and I received one of their own designs (the love heart one) and one that was made for not another bill. It says not another tattoo and has an anchor on it.

You can subscribe to not another bill here. You are also asked some questions about the person who the gift is for. You are asked if its for a girl, boy, lady, gent, couple and are also asked where they will be found and have options such as fashion show, carboot sale, high street etc.

I really love Not another bill and really like the concept behind it.

Perfume Collection

Perfume is something I have only really gotten into the past year or so. Until then it was all about impulse body spray and my only perfume, So..? eternal. I really like the collection I have built and don't plan on buying any more until I have used up some more of these. I am not really going to describe the scents as I am not very good at scent describing. I will just let you know when I prefer to wear them. If I have already done a review of the perfume I will include the links.

Burberry Body £55 - I really like this and decided to get the full size after trying out a sample of it. It is a strong musky scent so I much prefer wearing it in the evening.

Marc Jacobs Oh Lola £37 - This has the most beautiful bottle ever. It's a really light fragrance which I love wearing in the summer.

U by Ungaro at Avon - This is no longer sold as far as I am aware. Its not an amazing fragrance and dosen't last very long on the skin either. It is very fruity too.

L'Occitane Eau Ravissante £37 - I really like this fragrance. Its very fresh and I would say almost fruity. I wear this all year round mainly during the day.

Boho from Boots - I got this from a friend for Christmas and although it's one of the Boots own kinda fragrances, it's surprisingly nice. It smells really fruity and freshens you up. It also lasts for quite a long time on the skin.

So...? Eternal £6.35 - This is one of the first perfumes I owned. To be honest its very average. It doesn't last very long and the smell is very (and I mean very) subtle. It does smell nice when first sprayed though but I won't be repurchasing.

Soap and Glory Eau de Soap and Glory £16.50 - I really, really like this perfume. It is the Soap and Glory signature scent which I really love. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't last on the skin very long.

L'Occitane Sorbet Verbena £38 - The smell of this perfume is amazing. It smells like flowers and in a funny way like cucumbers? Although I like the fragrance I gave this to my mum because I can't stand the feel of the bottle and the noise that the lid makes when it comes off. Surely I'm not the only one who feels like this about frosted glass and metal lids?

So..? Superstar £10.49 (Currently on lots of offers in Boots) - This is a really strong perfume that doesn't last for very long but for the first 20-30 minutes of applying it, it is so strong. I personally don't like this fragrance very much.

Especially Escada £32 - This is one of my favourite perfumes and I tend to reach for it most days. It has a very sweet smell to it and lasts for quite a while too. I also really love the packaging.

My Favourite Magazines

Although I mainly read blogs to find out about products, I do love to read magazines too. I don't really ever get the magazines that are over £2.50 as I think that is quite expensive for a magazine when I can get the exact same information on the internet.

I have a few favourite magazines that I tend to get every time they come out.

Every single month without fail I buy Glamour magazine. Most of the time it is £2 but every couple of months it goes down to £1. I really like the variety of fashion, beauty, lifestyle and real life stories. Another plus is that the font is really easy to read throughout the magazine.

Company Magazine is my least favourite of the 3 mentioned. I really like the fashion pages and last month's fashion around the world article really caught my eye. It costs £2 and is occasionally £1. The font of this magazine is sometimes quite tricky to read.

The Boots Health And Beauty Magazine is amazing. For starters if you have a Boots advantage card (if you don't you should seriously get one) the magazine is free! Yes that's right free. If you don't have an advantage card it is still really cheap at £1. This magazine is perfect for me, a magazine full of beauty products. This comes out every 2 months.

What are your favourite magazines?

Small Clothing haul

I don't know if you know this about me, but I really like buying clothes from George at Asda. Most people underestimate the clothes you can fins at the supermarket but to be honest they are just as pricey as somewhere like H&M and much better quality.

I actually found these in the George 1/2 price sale the other week. They fit amazingly and are so comfy. Its hard to believe they were only £4!!

I got this top for my work experience as I needed to wear smart casual. It cost £14 which is quite a lot for a top to me but it is great quality and I adore the cute pattern.

This is the bag I have got for school next year. It has a cute bunny print on it which I personally love. Although it's an overnight bag (and I think its a bit big for school) it will certainly fit all my folders and things in. It also has a zip over the top which is great to keep papers protected if its raining. This bag cost £9 which for a well made bag is an amazing price.

My Skincare Collection

I didn't realise how extortionately large my facial skincare collection was until I decided I was going to have a look at what I have and try and use things up. I would say 50-60% of these products have never been opened and am considering doing a blog sale (only including the things I bought myself ). If you would be interested in a blog sale let me know in the comments. The picture doesn't even show the whole collection. I have more products in my bathroom and in a big Soap and Glory bag which are not included in the photo. In total I would say I have about 90-100 products which for me is quite extreme.

How big is your skincare collection?

Treacle Moon Her Mango Thoughts Body Butter | Review

In July Treacle Moon released their brand new scent. Her Mango Thoughts is the perfect scent for summer and so refreshing.

The body butter is the first body butter in their range that I have tried and let me tell you, when this runs out I am going to try this in some other scents. The butter is definitely on the thick side which I don't normally lean towards as it normally means they will take forever to sink in but this takes just as long as a lotion. It instantly moisturises the skin and leaves it feeling really soft. The scent is really strong and fruity but on the skin it doesn't smell as strongly. In the summer months I really like body products that leave a scent on the skin as perfume and body spray can stain the skin a brown colour in the heat.

Her mango thoughts is available as a shower gel £2.99 and a body butter £3.99. Both can be found in Tesco and here.

Have you tried any products from Treacle Moon?

Luxbox Beauty Box | July 2012

Luxbox have been having some problems with their posting lately so the July box was a little bit late. I obviously didn't mind that it was late as Luxbox have good customer service and let the subscribers know what is happening via facebook, twitter and if you email they will email back quickly.

Magnifibres brush on false lashes

I am really intrigued by this product. I'm hoping that as well as making my lashes look longer it will help hold a curl as even my curlers aren't managing to do that. You brush it on after your normal mascara and then apply another coat of mascara. This is a full sized product worth £20.

BRTC Gold Caviar BB Cream

This BB cream claims to have it all. SPF 50, anti aging properties, wrinkle repair and moisturiser. It also claims to be whitening which i'm not too sure about. I don't know if its too good to be true but I don't think the little sachets will be enough to test the product properly. I don't get on with BB creams very well so don't think I will be using these.
£17 for full size.

Gatineau Essential Skin Corrector

This is basically an anti aging cream. It claims to offer a anti aging shield designed to offer complete protection to skin against internal and external aggression's which cause accelerated aging.
Full size £69     Sample worth £10.35

Yana cosmetics foundation

This is one of the products I am not very impressed with.  It claims to be full coverage yet it doesn't cover anything on my skin and leaves a funny white tinge on my face. I was impressed by the fact that Luxbox emailed all the subscribers asking what shade they wanted.
Full size £25

Inika Certified Organic Eye Liner

I think this is my favourite item from this months box even though I don't tend to wear eyeliner.I really like how creamy and pigmented the colour is. It is also super easy to blend so could also be blended onto the lid as an eyeshadow.
Full sized product worth £11.75

Crayola Madness

Crayola pens, pencils and crayons were always the big thing when I was little. I still use the pencils and felt tip pens to this day as they are such good quality. Anyway this post isn't about stationary, it is about an iPod case from Griffins technology. My Animal Lovin post is one of my most viewed and commented on posts so I thought I would talk about my new iPod case.

The iPod case is made to look like a crayola crayon. The crayon I have is in the colour purple pizzazz. The names on all 4 of the cases are so cute. The case also comes in pink - cotton candy, green - Caribbean green and blue - blue berry.

The case is a clip on, hard shell case which I usually don't like as I feel they don't give as much protection as the silicone and other flexible cases. However as the design is so cute I really don't mind too much.

The cases cost about $24.99 from here.

What do you think of the Crayola cases?

Darwood & Tanner Brazillian Lime Toothpaste | Review

When I did my last Luxbox post I had a lot of comments from people asking me to review the most intriguing product in the box, a lime flavored toothpaste.

To be quite honest there isn't an awful lot I can say about this because I absolutely hate it. They claim that the flavours are "mouth watering, which actively encourage all the family to love their teeth."

I got all my family to try this and they all agreed with me that it is the most horrible tasting toothpaste ever. I had to brush 3 more times with a colgate toothpaste before the horrible taste was gone from my mouth. In all honesty I did only try it once because I couldn't bear the taste again. This is heading for the bin as its no use to anyone in my house.

I definitely wouldn't recommend this and for £4.99 I feel it is very expensive for a toothpaste.

Have you tried a non mint flavored toothpaste?

Cards For Sale and Help

Hey guys

As you might have seen on my last post I am changing my blog so its not just beauty but so its about anything I want to blog about. Some of you may know that for a while now I have been making greetings cards. I have recently really been enjoying making them and have been thinking of creating a big cartel shop selling them. If you have any name ideas for the shop please let me know.

I can make custom made cards for birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Weddings, Baby's, New home, congratulations, exams, welcome home, any other religious events. I can personalise cards with names and most colours and embellishments can be changed.

I was thinking of selling the cards for £1.75 - £3.00 inc postage depending on the event and personalisation. All payment will be through paypal. I have sold a few cards already and made a specially requested one which is ready to be posted. If you would like one please email me or leave a comment with all the details of what you want on your card and I will send you a price to see if you still want the card.

These pictures are a few that I have made for friends and family. I have also sold a few very similar to these but personalised more.

If you want to order a card I will email you with pictures of the card before I stick it down with suggestions of other things I could do and just to make sure you like it. The card below was requested for Eid. I sent pictures of what the card would look like with and without certain pieces to make sure it is just right for the person.

As you can see the above picture has beads inside the sequins and the below picture doesn't this is so the customer can decide which way they like it.

If you have a request please leave it below. I can now also do personalised cards if someone has been travelling. If you want more information please email me at meganwilliams97@hotmail.co.uk

What do you think of my cards?

Update

I'm back after what feels like forever. I am not even going to make excuses as to why I haven't blogged in so long but I am back now. Last week I was on holiday in Liverpool and I had a great time.

Anyway I have been thinking about my blog and how I really want it to be. I really want to post about random things, food, fashion and lifestyle so my blog is no longer going to just be beauty.

I hope doing this will make my posts more interesting to read. If you have any post requests let me know in the comments.
